IMPORTANT NOTICE: ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

Before our technician begins any work, it is essential that you thoroughly acquaint yourself with this Agreement. Allowing our technician to initiate service implies your complete acceptance of the terms outlined in this document. These conditions govern all appliance repair services provided by Top Hat Appliance Service.

1. CALL RECORDING

All customer service calls are recorded for quality assurance and dispute resolution. By contacting us, you consent to this recording. Recordings are used solely at the company's discretion and are kept secure.

2. APPOINTMENTS

Appointments are scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., based on technician availability and system routing. You will receive a confirmation text the day prior. Unconfirmed appointments will be canceled, and you are responsible for rescheduling.

For part installation, appointments are only booked once parts have arrived.

3. SERVICE CALL FEE

The service call fee includes:

  • Technician’s travel and diagnostic time

  • Non-refundable in all cases

  • Deducted from the total bill if the repair proceeds

4. ESTIMATES

Valid for 14 days. Any payment (deposit, parts, labor) constitutes full acceptance of the estimate and of these Terms and Conditions.

5. PAYMENT TERMS

  • Payment is due upon completion of service

  • Late fee: 1.5% per month or the legal maximum

  • Customer is responsible for collection and legal costs if applicable

6. WARRANTY

A 30-day warranty applies only to the specific issue repaired, excluding damage caused by:

  • Weather, pests, misuse, relocation

  • Interference by others

  • Units not installed to code

No refunds for parts/labor already provided. If no fault is found on return visit, a service call fee applies.

7. REPAIR COST

Pricing is based on repair complexity, not time spent. We aim to provide transparent, fair pricing.

8. LIABILITY RELEASE

You agree to release 2687267 Alberta LTD. and its staff from liability for any damages arising from our repair work.

9. SERVICE SPECIALIZATION

We repair appliances; we do not replace them.

  • We use OEM quality parts

  • We are third-party technicians for warranty providers

  • We are not responsible for part delivery delays by manufacturers

10. CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES

  • An adult (18+) must be present

  • Payment method ready (no cheques or e-transfers)

  • Ensure easy, unblocked access to appliances

  • Stacked units must be unstacked or a second technician will be billed

  • No smoking near technician

  • We are not responsible for moving appliances

  • Units must be installed to manufacturer’s standards

11. INSTALLATION CHARGES

Installation includes setup without modifying gas, electrical, water, or ventilation systems.

  • Compliance verification is the customer’s responsibility

  • Additional materials and second technician fees are billed separately

  • Service call fee applies if installation cannot be completed

12. PARTS POLICY

  • Only OEM-quality parts are used

  • Shipping/handling fees are non-refundable

  • Electrical and special-order parts are non-returnable

  • A 25% restocking fee applies if service is canceled after part order

13. RECOMMENDATIONS DISCLAIMER

We are not liable for third-party work performed based on our recommendations.

14. COMPLETED REPAIR

A repair is considered complete when marked as such by the technician. Full payment confirms customer satisfaction. No refunds after service completion.

15. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

We are only liable for the service fees collected. No liability for indirect or consequential damages. We do not provide appliance replacement services.

16. WARRANTY / EXTENDED SERVICE AGREEMENTS

If a manufacturer or extended warranty provider refuses to cover the repair, the customer is responsible for full payment within 10 days. Collection and legal fees apply as necessary.

17. DAMAGE WAIVERS

We are not liable for damage caused during:

  • Moving appliances (at your request)

  • Water leaks

  • Cooling failure

  • Lifting of fragile parts such as glass cooktops

18. REFUSAL OF SERVICE

We reserve the right to refuse service due to inappropriate behavior or unsafe conditions. A service call fee may still apply.

19. ADDITIONAL TERMS

  • Call Times: Service times are estimated and subject to technician availability

  • Two Technicians: Duplicate diagnostics (NFF) may incur charges

  • Same-Day Service: Offered when availability permits
